Description: Thursday 2nd of July 11.00 CEST the Norwegian Sports Law Association will host a free webinar addressing mitigating measures applied internationally to tackle the impact of the Corona Virus in the football market.
The first part of the webinar will consist of a presentation from professor Michele Colucci. Mr. Colucci is amongst others a member of FIFA DRC and is responsible for a series of publications on international sports law, most recently the book “Transfers of football players – A practical approach to implementing FIFA Rules” (http://www.sportslawandpolicycentre.com/)
Mr. Colucci has also recently conducted a study in cooperation with the research institutions the Sports Law and Policy Centre and LawIinSport: “Coronavirus and its impact on football”.
The study comprises input from leading academics and sports lawyers from 52 jurisdiction, thus providing a broad empirical basis for the comparative analysis of topics that will be discussed in the webinar such as:
1. Re-commencement of football
2. Impact on revenue: broadcasting rights, sponsorship and ticket sales
3. Employment status of players
4. Government measures
5. Federation measures
6. Looking ahead, shaping the future of sport together
After a presentation from Mr. Colucci regarding main findings from the study, a panel discussion will follow with members from the Norwegian Sports Law Association and representatives from stakeholders of Scandinavian football.
